Auburn Football Program under former Coach Gene Chizik possible NCAA violations

Starla M. Brown
The Auburn Tigers may face several violations that would include bribes and altered grades under former coach Gene Chizik according to a story in USA Today.

The alleged violations were part of Auburn's National Championship season and are reportedly NCAA violations for offering cash incentives to players as well as altering grades for eligibility to play.

Chizik was fired at the end of the 2012 season with a dismal record.  During Chizik's tenure as coach, Gus Malzahn served a two year coaching position as the offensive coordinator for the Tigers.  Malzahn was hired as Chizik's replacement by Auburn earlier this year.

During the time of the alleged NCAA violations, Auburn performed a perfect winning season.  The allegations are stemming from comments made by former Auburn players to reporter Selena Roberts.
